My name is Knowledge Mpofu. I have lived in Milton Keynes for over 10 years with my wife and our two children attending local schools. I am standing as a Conservative Party candidate for Shenley Brook End Ward, which includes Shenley Lodge, North Furzton, and North Emerson Valley. If elected, I will work tirelessly with other Councillors to ensure Milton Keynes remains a great place to live, work and bring up a family.
I am a graduate in executive Organisational Leadership from the University of Oxford (Said Business School), and a PhD from Brunel University (London). I am a lecturer at a university and currently serve as a local School Governor. Residents need strong leadership they can trust to make a difference in representing their voice and addressing the local issues affecting our local communities. I love Milton Keynes and am passionate about promoting our city.
Milton Keynes deserves a local Council that delivers real value for taxpayers. The Labour-run Council in partnership with the Liberal Democrats Focus Team are letting residents down by raising Council tax while building up nearly £160m cash reserves but at the same time - cutting basic services like road repairs. I will continue defending the Conservative Party’s pledge for more funding to tackle potholes, weekly bin collections and local salt (grit) bins. I am backing the Conservative plan for an additional £2 million for homelessness which has spiralled out of control under the Labour-run, Lib. Dems backed Milton Keynes Council.
If elected, I will be committed to working tirelessly with other Councillors and local communities in making a difference in delivering our pledges for a better Milton Keynes.
